By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

second respondent is directed to dispose of the said application on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The surveying authority will of course put on notice the adjacent land owner. It is made clear that this court has not pronounced anything on the merits of the matter.
