This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to grant adequate police protection to perform the Kodai festival of Arulmigu Sudalaimadan Temple during the Kaalnattu function on 04.05.2018 followed by Kodai Festival on 10.05.2018, 11.05.2018 and 12.05.2018 and Ettaam naal Kodai festival on 18.05.2018 in a peaceful manner in Vadalivilai village, Kottar Post, Agastheeswaram Taluk, Kanyakumari District by considering the petition presented by the petition dated 18.04.2018.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.According to the petitioner, he made a representation dated 18.04.2018 to the respondents to grant adequate police protection to perform the Kodai festival of Arulmigu Sudalaimadan Temple during the Kaalnattu function on 04.05.2018 followed by Kodai Festival on 10.05.2018, 11.05.2018 and 12.05.2018 and Ettaam naal Kodai festival on 18.05.2018 in a peaceful manner in Vadalivilai village, Kottar Post, Agastheeswaram Taluk, Kanyakumari District. As no order has been passed in the said representation, the petitioner has filed this writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation is still pending with the Second respondent. Therefore, this Court may pass appropriate orders to consider the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law. 5.Considering the submission made by both parties, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 18.04.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law on or before 03.05.2018, after hearing the parties concerned.

6.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
