ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent to issue patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the property situated in Town Survey No.428 to an extent of 3.96 cents in Ward No.21, Block No.12, Madakulam Village of Madurai Corporation, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2026, within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner purchased an extent of 3.96 cents out of 99.5 cents in S.No.428, Ward No.21, Block No.12, Madakulam Village, Madurai, by virtue of sale deed dated 25.04.2024. From the date of such purchase, the petitioner has been in peaceful possession and enjoyment of the said property. The petitioner submitted an appeal / representation dated 02.01.2026 before the third respondent seeking patta.
However, despite the lapse of considerable time, no action has been taken on the petitioner's representation. Hence, the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation / appeal dated 02.01.2026, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
