ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the Respondents No. 1 to 5 to permit the petitioner to conduct Vada Manjuvirattu Historical event at 66.M.Pallapatti Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District on 12.04.2023 by providing adequate police protection and permission by considering the petitioner's representation dated 15.02.2023. 2.Even though writ of Mandamus will not lie, since according to the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the area, in which, the above said Jallikkattu is proposed to be held is not the notified area by the Government as per the G.O.Ms.No.7 dated 21.01.2017, Animal Husbandary Department. Now the petitioner wants to include his Village also in the above said Government Order. For that purpose he ought to have approached the 2/4

Government. The District Collector is not the competent authority to decide the same, since he can execute the order in notified areas only. 3.With the above said observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
