PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 herein to consider representation dated 17.02.2025 to treat all the people equally while conducting Daily Pooja and equal participation in temple administration for all the communities in Sree Valampuri Dharma Muniswarar Temple situated at Sy.No. 184, Kuthakottai Group, Keelakarai Vattam, Ramanathapuram District. This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 herein to consider the representation dated 17.02.2025 to treat all the people equally while conducting Daily Pooja and equal participation in temple administration for all the communities in Sree Valampuri Dharma Muniswarar Temple situated at Sy.No. 184, Kuthakottai Group, Keelakarai Vattam, Ramanathapuram District. 2/5
2.According to the petitioner, the private respondent and his family members obstructing the other community people from participating in the temple administration. Therefore, he gave a representation before the respondents on 04.02.2025 and the same was not considered. Hence this petition.
3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that already this Court in W.P(MD)No. 5254 of 2025 has granted permission for peaceful worship to all the persons in the temple and as far as the second part of the prayer is concerned, the petitioner can approach the appropriate forum. 4.Considering that one part of the prayer was already considered by this Court in W.P(MD)No.5254 of 2025 and for the second part of the prayer, this Court cannot decide the dispute, thereby, the petitioner can approach the appropriate forum in accordance with law. 3/5
