ORDER

(By G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.) Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner's husband was convicted under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and sentenced to one year rigorous imprisonment. The petitioner seeks emergency leave for six days. 3.We are satisfied with the reasons set out in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition. We, therefore, direct the third respondent to grant six (6) days emergency leave for the convict without escort. 2/6

4.The writ petition is allowed on the following conditions:- (a)The convict-prisoner, Premkumar, (Convict No.717571) now detained at Central Prison, Madurai is granted emergency leave for six (6) days from 26.02.2026 to 03.03.2026 without escort.

(b) The convict prisoner shall be released from the prison at 05.00 p.m., on 25.02.2026 and he shall return to the prison at 10.00 a.m., on 04.03.2026. (c) During the said leave period, he shall report before the Inspector of Police, Keerathurai Police Station, Madurai District daily at 05.00 p.m., from 26.02.2026 onwards, without fail.

(d) During the leave period, the convict prisoner shall abide by all the conditions prescribed in the Jail Manual.
