ORDER
The petitioner is before this Court seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2024. In the said representation, the petitioner has sought correction of the name of the 1/4
mother of her son in the birth certificate as "K. Balakavitha" instead of "Hepziba." 2.The name of the mother of K. Sam Joshwa is presently reflected as "Hepziba" in the birth certificate, based on the hospital records. The petitioner contends that her name was inadvertently recorded as "Hepziba" instead of "Balakavitha" in the hospital records, resulting in the said error in the birth certificate. In support of her claim, the petitioner has produced documents such as the student declaration form, Secondary School Leaving Certificate, and bona fide certificate issued in favour of her son.
3.The learned counsel for the respondent submitted that the petitioner's representation, along with the supporting documents, will be considered in accordance with law within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court. The said submission is placed on record.
4.In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2024, on its own merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is open to the petitioner to submit additional documents, if any, in support of her claim. If such documents are submitted, the respondent shall consider the same before passing appropriate orders. There shall be no order as to costs. 2/4
