ORDER

The petitioner is working as a Driver in the respondent Transport Corporation. The petitioner, with a grievance over the seniority list published by the respondent Transport Corporation on 11.02.2026, has filed this writ petition that his juniors have been placed above him and his seniors have been placed below him in order to do some favoritism.

2. Mr.P.F.Ferlin Castro, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for the respondents, clarified that this is not a promotion list and they would not be monetarily affected. It is only a duty chart for their schedule of work, depending upon their seniority. This is also in accordance with the terms of 12(3) settlement. According to him, there is no violation in the seniority panel.

4. If the panel has been prepared for the purpose of allotment of works, it must be in a fair and proper manner with a proper procedure. In the event, if the procedure has not been contemplated in the 12(3) settlement, then the respondent Corporation in consultation with the trade unions have to evolve a transparent mechanism to ensure that there is no favoritism in this process.

5. With this above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 20.02.2026 ogy Index : Yes / No.
