ORDER

The present petition is filed seeking to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.244 of 2021 of Srirengam Police Station, Srirengam, Trichy City.

2.On the side of the petitioner, it is stated that the petitioner is running a lodge in the name and style of Ranga Lodge at Sri Rangam. The second respondent lodged a false complaint against some unknown persons as if immoral traffic in women has taken place in the lodge. First Information Report was registered and lodge was illegally closed. Hence, he prayed the First Information Report to be quashed.

3.On the side of the first respondent, it is stated that the complaint was filed by the second respondent regarding immoral traffic in women. The complaint is only a recent complaint. Investigation is pending. First respondent sent a report to the Revenue Divisional Officer to take necessary action with regard to the premises used for the offence and prayed the petition to be closed.

4.On the side of the petitioner, a judgment of this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD)No.2715 of 2019 was filed wherein, this Court has quashed the First Information Report in Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act Cases.

5.A perusal of the records reveals that the case was filed against an individual, who is not the owner of the lodge. Here, the petitioner is the owner of the lodge and the citation referred by the petitioner is not applicable to this case. The First Information Report was recently registered. Since the proceeding is pending before the Revenue Department, this Court is not inclined to quash this petition at the present stage. 6.In the above circumstances, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
