Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records relating to the impugned order, dated 23.02.2021 passed by the fourth respondent and quash the same, consequently direct the respondents to grant permission to conduct the cultural event scheduled to be held on 31.03.2021 and 01.04.2021 in connection with Sri Manthaiamman Temple festival, Vaigaipudur, Aundipatti, Theni District.

ORDER

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner contended that though the District Collector granted permission for conducting cultural event to another set of persons in the same village, declined to grant permission to the present petitioner for conducting cultural events, which is scheduled to be held on 31.03.2021 and 01.04.2021 in connection with temple festival of Sri https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

3.Mr.S.Chandrasekar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who accepts notice for the respondents, on instructions, would contend that the cultural events are scheduled to be held on 31.03.2021 and 01.04.2021 and since the District Collector intends to impose 144 Cr.P.C proceedings in view of the Election to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on 06.04.2021, permission was declined. 4.Recording the submission, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
