ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner was arrested on 08.03.2018 in Crime No.12 of 1995 for offences under Sections 457, 380, 414 r/w 120 (b) of Indian Pendal Code.

2.The case against the petitioner pertains to idol theft. The prosecution submits that the idol of Duwarabalagar, installed in Athalanallur Moondreeswara Mudaiyar Temple was stolen on 27.12.1994 and later sold to artificial dealers and the said idol is presently in Ganbera Art Galary in Australia.

3.The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the prosecution would submit that out of ten accused one accused has passed away and only seven have been apprehended sofar. Two more accused are yet to be arrested. Investigation is still pending. The learned Additional Advocate General would further point out that the petitioner is accused in three other idol theft cases. A specific contention has been made that if the bail is granted, he may flee from the arm of justice and also indulge in similar offences.

4.Finding considerable force in the objection raised by the learned Additional Advocate General this Court dismiss the Bail Petition.
