O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner for the post of Skilled Assistant Grade -II (Fitter Grade -II), by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.12.2022.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he has participated in the selection process to the post of Skilled Assistant Grade -II (Fitter Grade - II) and obtained 78.26 marks. On 24.12.2020, the second respondent has published the selection list and in that list, only 12 vacancies were filled, out of 18 vacancies allotted for MBC/DNC community candidates. Thereafter, on 07.08.2021, the second respondent has conducted certificate verification for the above said six vacancies and by the 2/6

selection list dated 12.08.2021, one Siva was filled up, who belongs to Vanniyar community, leaving still five vacancies. The petitioner is eligible to be selected in those five vacancies. Hence, he has made a representation to the respondents on 28.12.2022, seeking to appoint him for the post of Skilled Assistant Grade - II (Fitter grade - II) based on the quota system. But till date no action has been taken. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that this Court may issue a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.12.2022 and pass appropriate orders, within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and the learned counsel appearing for the second respondent. 3/6

Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.12.2022 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
