O R D E R

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second and third respondents herein not to harass the petitioner under the guise of the enquiry.

2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the fourth respondent has already lodged a similar complaint, for which, an enquiry was conducted by the respondent police. Again he lodged the same complaint before the respondent police and the petitioner has been summoned for enquiry.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submits that based on the complaint forwarded by the Commissioner of Police, Madurai, enquiry is pending on the file of the respondent police. In the event if the petitioner appears and co-operates with the enquiry, the enquiry will be completed 2/5

within a reasonable time.

4.Considering the rival submissions made, this criminal original petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to appear before the respondent police for enquiry on 17.04.2024 and shall produce the result of the earlier enquiry conducted by the respondent police. The respondent police is not supposed to keep the petition/enquiry pending for more than four weeks. The respondent police has to take a decision either way within a period of two weeks from the date of appearance of the petitioner. During the course of enquiry, the respondent police is expected not to harass the petitioner.
