Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to disburse the amount under Hon'ble Chief Minister's Accident Relief Fund for the accidental death of petitioner's son namely Saravana Viswa, in connection with Crime No.21 of 2012, on the file of Sindhupatti Police Station, based on the recommendations made by the 3rd respondent in his proceedings Na.Ka.No.A1/271/2012, dated 28.03.2017 to the petitioner within a period stipulated by this Court.

2.The petitioner son namely., Saravana Viswa died in an accident on 09.02.2012. In this regard, Crime No.21 of 2012 was registered on the file of Sindhupatti Police Station. In such accident cases, the Government has a policy of disbursing certain amount as ex gratia. As per the norms that were in force during the relevant point of time, the petitioner is entitled to ex gratia of Rs.50,000/-.
3.Today when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate produced the cheque drawn in the name of the petitioner for a sum of Rs.50,000/-. The learned counsel for the petitioner also accepts the same.
