O R D E R
The Criminal Original Petition is filed for a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Uthamapalayam to expedite the trial in C.C.No.190 of 2016 within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court.
2.Heard Mr.B.Brijesh Kishore, learned Counsel for the petitioners and Mr.A.Ramar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who takes notice for the respondent.
3.As against the petitioner, a complaint was lodged in Crime No.231 of 2016 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 324 and 506(i) IPC. After filing the charge sheet, the case was taken on file by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Uthamapalayam, in C.C.No.190 of 2016 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 324 and 506(ii). 4.The learned Counsel for the petitioners stated that though the criminal case was posted in the list for trial, some time back, there was no progress and that therefore a direction for earlier disposal of the criminal case will be in the interest of justice.

5.Considering the nature of grievance expressed by the petitioners and the 'B' diary extract to show that there is no progress, for the past more than one year, this Court is inclined to issue the following directions:
"The learned Judicial Magistrate, Uthamapalayam, is directed to expedite the trial and dispose of the case in C.C.No.190 of 2016 within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order"
6.As a result, the Criminal Original Petition is allowed, accordingly.
