Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to regularize and disburse the destitute widow pension which was sanctioned by the third respondent by his proceedings in 16165/99/A2 dated 03.01.2000 and transfer the same based on the petitioner's representation dated 26.12.2018 within a time frame as stipulated by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The Writ petitioner is a destitute widow. The said status is not in doubt. As early as on 03.01.2000, the third respondent issued proceedings to that effect in favour of the Writ petitioner. The Writ petitioner had received the destitute widow pension till December 2017. Thereafter, the petitioner is not being paid the said pension. That necessitated the filing of this Writ petition.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader informs this Court that on account of change of residence, the disbursement of the said pension was stopped.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the Writ petitioner states that the Writ petitioner was earlier residing at Allinagaram, Peraiyur Taluk and that she shifted to Allikundam, Usilampatti Taluk, so as to live with her aged mother.

5. Since the proceeding dated 03.01.2000 issued by the third respondent in favour of the petitioner is still holding good, the third respondent is bound to disburse the said pension to the petitioner. The third respondent shall take note of the current address as given in this affidavit. The third respondent shall also disburse the arrears of pension to the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
