This petition is filed by the defacto complainant for a direction to the third respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.25 of 2022 dated 18.08.2022 as expeditiously as possible.
2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that pursuant to the matrimonial dispute, a complaint was given by the petitioner and thereby, the second respondent police have registered a case in Crime No.25 of 2022 on 18.08.2022, for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 342, 498(A) of IPC and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. It is submitted that the husband of the petitioner moved an application for anticipatory bail in Crl.O.P.(MD) No.14169 of 2022 before this Court and same was dismissed on 13.10.2022. Though the case has been registered on 18.08.2022, the respondent police have not taken any steps to proceed with the investigation and file charge sheet.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that so far the respondents police have recorded the statements of 11 witnesses and they are about to complete the investigation.
4. Considering the submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent police to complete the investigation as early as possible and file the final report not later than eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
