Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to grant permission and to provide police protection to conduct the 'Jallikattu' on 21.04.2018 during the Festival of Punitha Soosaiyappar Church at Kottaikadu Village, Karambakudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 16.04.2018.

3. The Writ Petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of
Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and to provide police protection to conduct the 'Jallikattu' on 21.04.2018 during the Festival of Punitha Soosaiyappar Church at Kottaikadu Village, Karambakudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 16.04.2018.
4. Though the petitioner seeks a direction for a larger relief, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that petitioner would limit his prayer to one, seeking consideration of representation dated 16.04.2018.
5. Learned Government Advocate seeks time towards consideration of the representation.
6. Accordingly, the Writ petition shall stand disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.04.2018 solely on merits and pass orders in accordance with law, on or before 20.04.2018.
