ORDER

It is an application seeking a direction to the second respondent to provide adequate Police protection to the petitioner to renovate the Bus stop shelter at Nallurani, Nerkuppai, Sivagangai District, based on his representation dated 18.07.2016. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the respondents 1 and 2. By consent, the Criminal Original Petition itself is taken up for final disposal. In view of the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, notice to the respondents 3 and 4 is dispensed with. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though the petitioner on his own efforts tried to renovate the bus shelter at Nallurani, Nerkuppai, after getting prior permission from the Executive Office of the Nerkuppai Panchayat, the respondents 3 and 4 came to the spot, abused the petitioner and gave life threat to him and therefore, anticipating danger, the petitioner has sent a representation dated 18.07.2016 seeking Police protection for renovating the said bus stop shelter, to the second respondent. As there was no response to the same, the petitioner has come up with this petition.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the official respondents, on instructions, would submit that a Peace Committee Meeting was conducted in which one of the decisions have been taken to the effect that the renovation and maintenance work of the said shelter will be done by the Panchayat itself and therefore, the petition filed by the petitioner was closed. 5.Recording the above submission of the learned Government Advocate, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
