ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the first respondent to issue passport to the petitioner by considering her application dated 30.01.2026.

2. The learned Government Advocate(crl.side) appearing for the second respondent brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner has been implicated in a criminal case in Cr.No.2 of 2022 on the file of the second respondent. According to her, though the charge sheet was laid on 30.01.2023 before the Additional Mahila Court, Pudukottai, the same has not yet been taken on file. However, according to the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, her name has been deleted in the charge sheet.

3. Considering the fact that so far the trial Court has not taken cognizance of the matter and it relates to a family dispute, there is no legal impediment for the first respondent to consider the request of the petitioner for issuance of the passport. The first respondent is directed to pass orders within a period of 4(four) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
