O R D E R

This Criminal Original petition is filed for a direction to the respondent to file final report in the case in Cr.No.778 of 2017 pending on the file of the respondent police within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2.Heard Mr.S.Mohamed Kadhar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.S.Durai Pandian, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who takes notice for the respondent. 3.The petitioner states that he is the de-facto complainant in Crime No.778 of 2017 and he has lodged a complaint, as against a person, who is practicing medicine, without any qualification. Though the case was registered in Crime No.778 of 2017, for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 406, 417, 323, 326, 294 (b) and 506(i) IPC, it is stated that there was no progress and the final report is yet to be filed.

4.Considering the scope and the fact that there is an element of public interest, this Court is inclined to issue the following directions:

"The respondent is directed to expedite the investigation and file a final report in Crime No.778 of 2017 within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order". 5.As a result, the Criminal Original Petition is allowed.
