ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking expeditious disposal of his appeal under Section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1986, on 15.02.2025.

2. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. On going through the representation made by the petitioner, I find that the petitioner has filed an appeal under Section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1986. However, I am unable to see any adverse order having been passed by the Tahsildar as against which alone an appeal under section 12 Patta Passbook Act would lie to the second respondent.

4. Therefore, I am not inclined to issue any positive direction. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the Tahsildar, who is also arrayed as the third respondent in the writ petition, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such application/request, the third respondent shall consider the same on its own merits, in accordance with law and pass final orders within a period of eight weeks thereafter.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
