ORDER

Seeking to quash the impugned charge sheet in S.T.C.No.12 of 2026 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Ramanathapuram, this criminal original petition is filed. 2.The petitioners are the Accused Nos.1, 2, 6 to 8 and 15 in the pending trial in S.T.C.No.12 of 2026 before the learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Ramanathapuram. The first information report in Crime No.266 of 2025 was registered for the offences under Sections189(2) and 292 of BNS, 2023, as against the petitioners and others, on 20.01.2025, on the allegation that without getting any prior permission, the petitioners and others had conducted protest with respect to the death of Shalini and thereby, caused obstruction to the general public and traffic.

3.On the earlier occasion, when the matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners regret their activities and they are ready to file undertaking affidavit that they will not, in future, conduct any protest, without obtaining permission from the competent authority.

4.Today (i.e., 26.02.2026), each of the petitioners have separately filed their respective affidavits dated 23.02.2026 undertaking that, in future, they will take appropriate permission from the respondent police for conducting any protest or procession.

5.Recording the same, the impugned charge sheet in S.T.C.No.12 of 2026 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Ramanathapuram, is hereby quashed insofar as the petitioners are concerned. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. 26.02.2026 3/6
