Writ Petition is filed under article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider

the petitioner's representation dated 13.11.2025 and renew the gun licence in Licence No.2/2015 in favour of the petitioner within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

The innocuous prayer of the petitioner is that he was having a gun, the licence renewal of which fell due in the year 2020. The petitioner submitted an application for renewal, the same is pending, and final orders are not passed.

2.When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader taking notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that it is the first respondent who has to consider renewal application in accordance with law. Since the renewal is pending from the year 2020, the representation of the petitioner dated 13.11.2025 will be considered in accordance with law and final orders be passed if appropriate time is given.

3.In view thereof, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. Let final orders be passed on the renewal application made by the petitioner as expeditiously as possible, in any event not later than 16 weeks from the date of receipt of web copy of the order.
