O R D E R

This Criminal Original petition is filed for issuing a direction to the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Thirumangalam, Madurai District, to expedite and complete the trial in C.C.No.71 of 2017 within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for respondent.

3. The petitioner is the defacto complainant and based on the complaint, a case was registered originally in Crime No.5 of 2006 for the alleged offences under Sections 418 and 420 of I.P.C. After filing of Charge Sheet, the case was taken on file in C.C.No.71 of 2017 by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Thirumangalam. Though the case itself was taken on file only in the year 2017, the learned counsel for the petitioner states that a direction to the lower Court to dispose of the proceedings will be in the interest of justice.

4. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

"The learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Thirumangalam, Madurai District, is directed to expedite the trial and to dispose of the case in C.C.No.71 of 2017 as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
