ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take appropriate action to issue natham Patta in respect of Survey No.671/44 at Oottakovilpatti Village, Ayyapatti Revenue Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2026.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the subject property is ancestral in nature and that the petitioner is in peaceful possession and enjoyment thereof. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 02.01.2026 seeking issuance of a natham patta in respect of the subject property in his favour. Since no action has been taken on the said representation, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation will be considered

and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2026, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
