O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 herein to provide adequate police protection to Arulmighu Kudi Katha Mariamman Temple situated at Mela Theru, Pettai Vadakku, Kumbakonam Town on 16.03.2025 for peaceful conduct of the Palalayam ceremony based on the petitioner's representation dated 21.02.2025. 2.According to the petitioner, the petitioner is one of the Managing Trustee of the temple namely Arulmighu Kudi Katha Mariamman Temple. The petitioner along with others have decided to conduct Palalayam ceremony for the 2/6

above said temple on 16.03.2025. The third respondent encroached into the temple property and the same was objected by the petitioner and he already sent a legal notice to the third respondent for vacating the encroached property. Due to that motive, now the third respondent is attempting to restrain the petitioner from conducting Palalayam ceremony on 16.03.2025. Therefore, the petitioner approached the second respondent by way of representation dated 21.02.2025, for police protection but the same has not been considered by the second respondent. Hence, this Writ Petition.

3.Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 & 2 would submit that the representation of the petitioner is under consideration and they will conduct enquiry and dispose of the same within one [1] week. 4.Considering the limited prayer sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court without even issuing notice to the private respondent directs the second respondent police to complete the enquiry on the petitioner's representation in accordance with law within a period of one [1] week from the date of this order. 3/6

5.With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
