ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by J. NISHA BANU, J.) The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to take necessary action with regard to the petitioner's representations dated 25.11.2024 and 13.02.2025, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2.The petitioner submitted the aforementioned representations before the respondents, seeking proper water storage and timely release of water for irrigation from the Gnaniyar Kanmai water body, situated in Survey No.38, Kanmaipatty Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District. As the representations were not considered, the petitioner filed the present Writ Petition, styled as a 'Public Interest Litigation'.

3.When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that an auction has already been conducted and the tender has also been confirmed. 2/5

4.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. Perused the materials placed before this Court.

5.Upon perusal of the materials available on record, it is seen that the petitioner is aggrieved by the grant of a fishery lease in favour of one Kannan. This issue does not fall under the scope of a Public Interest Litigation. 6.Considering the submission made by the learned Government Pleader that the auction has already been conducted and the tender has also been confirmed, this Writ Petition is dismissed. If the petitioner is aggrieved, he is at liberty to challenge the same in the manner known to law. There shall be no order as to costs.
