Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and police protection to conduct the cultural events scheduled to be held on 29.03.2021 in connection with Arulmigu Sri Maha Mariyamman Temple festival, Ponnankannipatti Village, Puthur Post, Musiri Taluk, Trichy District.

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
2.Mr.K.Arunraj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would contend that though he submitted a representation on 15.03.2021 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct the cultural events in connection with temple festival of Arulmigu Sri Maha Mariyamman Temple, Ponnankannipatti Village, Puthur Post, Musiri Taluk, Trichy District, till date, no action has been taken by the respondents.
3.Mr.S.Chandrasekar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents, would contend that since there are rival claimants and First Information Report has also been registered, the permission to conduct the cultural events https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
W.P.(MD)No.6433 of 2021 on 29.03.2021 was rejected by the Inspector of Police, Musiri, Trichy District on 21.03.2021.
4.Recording the submission, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
