This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant permission and protection for conducting Sri Muthumariamman Temple festival from 20.05.2018 to 31.05.2018 at Kothamangalam Village, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukottai District and to provide police protection pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 10.04.2018.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3.According to the petitioner, he made a representation dated 10.04.2018 to the respondents to grant permission and protection for conducting Sri Muthumariamman Temple festival from 20.05.2018 to 31.05.2018 at Kothamangalam Village, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukottai District . As no order has been passed in the said representation, the petitioner has filed this writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.
4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation is still pending with the third respondent. Therefore, this Court may pass appropriate orders to consider the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law.
5.Considering the submission made by both parties, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.04.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law on or before 05.05.2018. The petitioner shall enclose a copy of a representation dated 10.04.2018 along with a copy of this order to the third respondent.
6.This writ petition is disposed of, with the above direction. No costs.
