8.K.Jawahar ..Respondents PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to directing the 1st respondent police to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner's life and limb and to harvest the crops in the petitioner's land and to transport the same on the basis of the petitioner's complaint dated 19.02.2023 and 22.02.2023 pending before the respondent police. For Petitioner : Mr.A.R.Sethupathy For R1 to R3 : Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar Additional Public Prosecutor For R4 to R8 : Mr.T.Balakrishnan O RDER This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent No.1 police to provide police protection to harvest the crops and transport the same, as the unofficial respondent Nos.4 to 8 are raising objections. 2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that this petition is filed in the month of March, 2023 seeking for a direction to the police to provide protection for harvesting the crops 2/5

and for transportation of the same and accordingly, the police have provided sufficient protection to the petitioner for harvesting the crop and the petitioner has sold the crops in the market and that he is preparing for fresh crops in his fields. 3.The learned counsel for the unofficial respondent Nos.4 to 8 submits that there is no standing crop at all at present and that no such direction can be given. 4.Considering the submissions made by both the parties, keeping the disputes between the petitioner and the unofficial respondent Nos.4 to 8 aside, since this petition is filed for a simple request of the petitioner for directing the police to provide police protection, since the protection has already been given to the petitioner, as there is no standing crop, no further orders can be passed in this petition.

5.However, the petitioner can file fresh application before the police whenever he requires any protection in respect of his property. On filing of such application, the police are directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits.
