PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to ensure the peaceful conducting of Sivarathiri and Chithra Pournami festival in the third respondent temple, namely, Arulmighu Salavai Karuppanasamy and Kamatchi Amman Thirukovil situated at Yanaikkal, Madurai District.

O R D E R

The petitioner, a devotee of Arulmighu Salavai Karuppanasamy and Kamatchi Amman Thirukovil,Yanaikkal, Madurai has approached this Court with a grievance that he has been prevented by the fifth respondent/Poosari from offering his prayer in the eve of Sivarathiri by closing the doors of the temple. 2.While entertaining this writ petition on 08.03.2024, this Court has passed an interim order directing the respondents 3 & 4 to ensure that the temple is remained open for everybody for offering 2/5

prayer in the eve of Sivarathiri and directed the respondents to file a report on the next date of hearing.

3.Today(15.03.2024), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel on either side submit that the Sivarathiri festival has been conducted in the above temple in a peaceful manner. Photographs to that effect have also been placed before this Court.

4.Recording the submission made by either side counsel, this writ petition is closed. No costs.
