PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to transfer the petitioner's father namely Senguttuvan convicted prisoner No.15511 from the Central Prison, Trichy to Central Prison, Madurai based on the petitioner's representation dated 16.03.2022.

The petitioner seeks transfer of her father, who is a life convicted prisoner undergoing sentence at Central Prison, Trichy to Central Prison, Madurai.

W.P(MD)No.5262 of 2022 3.Mr.S.Ravi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner has been received only on 18.03.2022 and the respondents are actively considering the same. It may take some time for them to take a decision on the transfer, since the consent of other prison authorities is also required.

4.Hence, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner for transfer of the prisoner, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
