The father, who is the petitioner herein, has sought intervention of this Court for issuance of writ of Habeas Corpus, alleging that his daughter (D.O.B - 03.06.2005) had gone missing on 13.02.2023. The complaint given to the second respondent Police in Crime No.59 of 2023 dated 14.02.2023 had not yielded any result and hence, for production of the person or body of the petitioner's daughter, the present Habeas Corpus Petition is filed.
2. Earlier, when the matter came up for consideration before this Court, a status report was filed stating that the whereabouts of the girl had been investigated through Anti Child Trafficking Unit.
3. Today, on mentioning, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police submitted that the petitioner's daughter was secured by the respondent Police.
4. The petitioner's daughter was produced before this Court today. The respondent Police has also secured the third respondent, who appears to have married the petitioner's daughter soon after she attained majority. On enquiry with the petitioner's daughter, this Court understands that she has eloped with the third respondent without informing her parents. It appears that due to pressure from the family to marry a boy, whom she did not like, she has left the house and now got married with the third respondent, whom she loved.
5. Since this Court finds that there is no illegal detention, abduction or unlawful custody, the Habeas Corpus Petition is dismissed as devoid of merits.
