ORDER

This Criminal Original petition is filed to direct the respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No.221 of 2016 and to file final report within a time stipulated by this court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. The petitioner is the defacto complainant and on the basis of the complaint lodged by the petitioner, a case was registered in Crime No.221 of 2016 for the alleged offences under sections 147, 148, 294(b), 441, 506(ii), 307, 406 and 420 I.P.C., as against five named accused. It is further submitted that there was no further investigation pursuant to the registration of the complaint and that a direction by this Court to the respondent police to file final report within a stipulated time will be in https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the interest of justice.

4. Considering the nature of grievance expressed by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is inclined to pass the following direction:- "The respondent police is directed to expedite the investigation in Crime No.221 of 2016 and to file final report within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order."
