The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the respondents to provide domestic electricity service connection under Tariff-IA to the petitioner's residential house based upon her application dated 16.02.2026.

2. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the residential houses have been constructed in a Government poromboke land and therefore, the application of the petitioner has not been considered so far.

3. I have considered the submissions made on either side and perused the materials available on record.

4. Considering the fact that the petitioner has put up only a residential house in the Government poromboke land, there cannot be any legal impediment for the respondents to provide service connection. Therefore, the respondents are directed to provide service connection to the writ petitioner on production of indemnity bond and letter of undertaking. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of 4(four) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
