ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to complete the enquiry and dispose the petition
given by the petitioner, dated 13.12.2023, within a stipulated time to be fixed by this Court.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the land comprised in S.No.19/1, measuring an extent of 26 cents, situated at Regunathapuram Village, Rajapalayam Taluk, Virudhunagar District, originally belonged to one Late Govindan, and the land comprised in S.No.16/5, measuring an extent of 31 cents, belonged to the petitioner's grandfather, Vaiyalimuthu. Subsequently, the above-said persons exchanged their lands vide a registered Exchange Deed dated 10.05.1983. The said Govindan died on 23.02.2011, and thereafter, his legal heirs partitioned the property and wrongly included the property covered under the Exchange Deed dated 10.05.1983. The second respondent also wrongly sub-divided the property without considering the said Exchange Deed dated 10.05.1983. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a petition dated 13.12.2023 to the respondents seeking cancellation of the Patta and also sent another representation dated 06.02.2026 to the first respondent to complete
the enquiry. However, no action has been taken by the respondents. Since no action has been taken by the first respondent so far, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the enquiry will be completed and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to complete the enquiry and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
