O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents o grant permission and necessary police protection to permit cultural programme i.e., Adal Padal dance programme on 25.05.2018 at 7.00 p.m. to 12.00 p.m. in the festival of Arulmighu Sri Nallimman Thirukovil at Killipattu, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. 3.According to the petitioner, he made a representation dated 16.04.2018 to the respondents seeking permission and protection for conducting the Adalum Palum Cultural programme on 25.05.2018 at 07.00 p.m. to 12.00 a.m. As no order has been passed in the said representation, the petitioner has filed this writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation is still pending with the second respondent. Therefore, this Court may pass appropriate orders to consider the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law.

5.Considering the submission made by both parties and perusal of the representation, it is seen that the petitioner made a representation on 16.04.2018 seeking permission and protection for conducting the cultural programme scheduled to be held on 25.05.2018 and approached this Court without giving sufficient time to the respondents to consider the representation. At this stage, this Court cannot entertain this Writ Petition and cannot issue positive direction. However, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.04.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. The petitioner shall enclose a copy of a representation dated 16.04.2018 along with a copy of this order to the second respondent. 6.This writ petition is disposed of, with the above direction. No costs.
