ORDER

This Criminal Original petition is filed for quashing the Charge Sheet filed in C.C.No.1 of 2007 on the file of the learned Sessions Judge, Kanyakumari District at Nagercoil.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

Though the prayer is for quashing the Charge Sheet that was filed in C.C.No.1 of 2007, considering the fact that the matter is pending for more than ten years and the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner will be satisfied, if a direction is issued to the learned Sessions Judge, Kanyakumari District at Nagercoil, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.1 of 2007 and to dispose of the same within a time stipulated by this Court. This Court is able to see some justification in the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner.

4. Hence, the Criminal Original petition is disposed of with a direction to the learned Sessions Judge, Kanyakumari District at Nagercoil to expedite the trial and to dispose of the case in C.C.No.1 of 2007 within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
