ORDER

The main grievance of the petitioner is that he preferred a complaint before the District-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Kodaikanal under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure in Cr.M.P.No.1541 of 2020 and the same was allowed on 08.12.2020 directing the respondent police to register First Information Report on the complaint lodged by the petitioner. Despite the same, no action has been initiated by the third respondent till date. His further contention is that the respondents 4 and 5 are 1/3

also threatening the petitioner, who is a Senior citizen and that he submitted a representation to the respondents regarding the same.

2.Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, would submit that as per the directions of the Judicial Magistrate, Kodaikanal, First Information Report was registered in Crime No.145 of 2021 and the investigation is underway.

3.In the circumstances, the third respondent is directed to dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioner seeking for police protection keeping in mind the provisions under Section 21 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act, 2007, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order/uploading of the order, after giving sufficient opportunity to the petitioner and the respondents 4 and 5.

4.With the above observation, the Criminal Original Petition is dispose of.
