Seeking quashment of the proceedings in Crime No. 158 of 2017, on the file of the first respondent police, the petitioner has approached this Court, on the ground that for the case, which was registered in the year 2017 as against this petitioner, for the offence under Sections 147, 1489, 341, 188 and 506(ii) IPC, a final report has not been filed so far.

Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) who takes notice for the first respondent submits that the final report in Crime No.158 of 2017 was made ready even in the year 2018. However, the same has not been filed by the respondent police. He undertook that the respondent police would file the final report in this week, along with an application under section 473 of Cr.P.C to condone the delay.
3.Since it is reported that the final report was made ready in the year 2018 and it has not been filed, the Superintendent of Police, 2/5
Karur is directed to initiate departmental proceedings as against the concerned officers, who have failed to file the final report in time. The respondent police shall file the final report without any further delay, along with an application to condone the delay by stating the reasons for such a huge delay. The Judicial Magistrate shall take a call on the final report.
4.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 26.06.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No vrn 3/5
