PRAYER:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to permit the petitioner to conduct Mahashivratri festival conducted for more than 30 years from time immemorial without any hindrance by the respondents 4 to 9. The petitioner/ the president and member of ''Maha Shivarathiri Vizha Committee'' of Arulmighu Anagala Parameshwari Amman Temple, Thuraiyur Town has filed this writ petition for a mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to permit the petitioner to conduct Mahasivarathiri festival in the above temple. 2/5

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the respondents 4 to 9, who are the hereditary poosaris of the temple are attempting to interfere with the time immemorial practice of conducting the Mahashivratri festival on 08.03.2024. Hence, this petition.

3.Today(06.03.2024), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel on either side submits that pending this writ petition, a meeting was conducted and the dispute between the petitioner and the private respondents 4 to 9 has been amicably settled in the presence of the the Inspector of HR & CE Department, Thuraiyur. The parties have agreed to conduct the Mahashivratri festival in a peaceful manner. Therefore, the learned counsel request this Court to close this writ petition.

4.In view of the submission made by the learned counsel on either side that the issue between the petitioner and the 3/5

respondents 4 to 9 has been amicably settled, this writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
