Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to pass order upon the petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2026 to provide the electric connection to the petitioner's dwelling house in S.No.214/14 in Patta No.1149 situated at Peraiyampatti Village, Periyur Taluk, Madurai District by shifting the electric pole from interruption place in S.No.214/6J Natham Land, to some other place within a time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the respondent to provide electricity service connection to the dwelling house of the petitioner by shifting the electrical pole.

2. According to the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent, two electrical poles have to be erected for the purpose of providing electricity service connection to the petitioner. However, there is objection from some third parties.

3. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, it is a pathway and therefore, there cannot be any objection from anyone of them.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondent is directed to provide service connection to the petitioner, in case if the petitioner deposits the amount for erection of electrical poles. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of 4(four) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

5. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
