O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to direct the respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No.117 of 2017 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Srivaikundam Police Station, Thoothukudi, Thoothukudi District and conclude the same within a time frame as specified by this Court forthwith. 2.Based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, a case was registered in Cr.No.117 of 2017 for the offences punishable under Sections 419, 420, 468, 471 and 474 IPC, for land grabbing. It is stated by the learned Counsel for the petitioner that there was no progress in the investigation and that therefore a direction to the respondent to expedite the investigation will be in the interest of justice.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has objection for issuing a direction to the respondent, as himself admitted that the investigation is likely to be completed within a period of three months.

4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is inclined to issue the follow directions: 4.1.The respondent is directed to complete the investigation and file a final report in Cr.No.117 of 2017 within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.In view of the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed.
