ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking orders to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate Court, Nilakottai, Dindigul District to expedite the trial in C.C.No. 50/2022, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that on the basis of the complaint given by the defacto complainant, FIR came to be registered in Crime No.29 of 2019 for the offences under Sections 279 and 304(A) of IPC against the petitioner herein. The respondent, after completing the investigation, has laid the final report before the jurisdictional Magistrate and the same was taken on file in C.C.No.50 of 2022 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Nilakottai, Dindigul District. He would further submit that though the alleged offence occurred in the year 2019, the trial of the case is not completed for more than 4 years. 3.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the trial has commenced and some of the witnesses have been examined in this case.

4. Considering the oldness of the crime, the Judicial Magistrate Court, Nilakottai, Dindigul District is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the case in C.C.No.50 of 2022 within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
