ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to expedite the enquiry proceedings in respect of Re-Survey Nos.729/7 and 729/8 in Old Natham Survey No.550, situated at Iluppaiyurani, Kovilpatti Taluk, Thoothukudi District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 14.08.2025, within a stipulated time to be fixed by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the subject property and is in peaceful

possession and enjoyment thereof. While so, during the UDR survey, certain extents of the property were wrongly classified as "Government Poramboke Street" and "Government Poramboke Vacant Land", respectively. Seeking to make necessary corrections in the revenue records and to issue a fresh patta to the petitioner in accordance with the sale deed, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 14.08.2025 to the second respondent. Since the same has not been considered so far, the petitioner has been constrained to approach this Court by filing the present writ petition seeking the relief stated supra.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.08.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, any other persons, who may

be affected by such decision, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
