ORDER

The above writ petition has been filed seeking for a Mandamus to direct the second respondent to receive the petitioner's application dated 22.12.2022 with fee to forward the same to the first respondent to pass an order along with the earlier application dated 11.01.2016 for renewal of permit in respect of the Mini Bus bearing Registration No.TN 74 Y 3800 for the period from 06.01.2016 to 05.01.2021 and 06.01.2021 to 05.01.2026 to ply on the route Karungal Bus Stand to Kooramvilai.

2.A communication of the second respondent, the Regional Transport Officer, Marthandam, Kanyakumari District dated 16.03.2023 addressed to the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents had been placed for the scrutiny of this Court, wherein, the fees for the renewal of the permit application for the period from 05.01.2001 to 04.01.2006 has been clearly stated and this appears to be the reason for keeping the permit of the mini bus pending. 2/4

3.Considering the fact that the writ petition itself is filed for granting a Mandamus to direct the second respondent to receive the application with fees and in the light of the above communication, the Writ Petition is allowed. The petitioner is directed to pay the necessary fees for the renewal of the permit for the period from 05.01.2021 to 04.01.2026 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The first respondent shall take steps to pass orders on the renewal within a period of four weeks therefrom. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
