The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner application dated 16.12.2013 and provide the petitioner employment on compassionate ground within the time fixed by this Court. 2.Heard Mr.K.Selvam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.J.Lawrance, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's husband died while he was working as an employee of the respondent Corporation on 23.11.2011. Therefore, the petitioner had given request/application dated 16.12.2013 to the respondent seeking compassionate appointment. Though the petitioner had been waiting all along, nothing was forthcoming from the respondent. Therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court with the aforementioned prayer and the learned counsel would further submit that, if a direction is given to consider the said request of the petitioner and an order to that effect is directed to be passed on merits and in accordance with law, within a stipulated time, the petitioner would be satisfied.

4.I have heard Mr.J.Lawrance, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent, who would submit that the request made by the petitioner would be considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a period to be stipulated by this Court.
5.In view of the said submissions made by both sides, this writ petition is disposed of with the following direction: "The respondent shall consider the request of the petitioner dated 16.12.2013 along with the documents annexed therewith with regard to her grievance of seeking compassionate appointment at the respondent Corporation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law therein, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.With this direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
