ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the 2nd respondent to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members from the respondents 3 to 7.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is facing a threat to life from the private respondents herein, arising from an assault suffered at their hands. The private respondents allegedly unlawfully trespassed into the petitioner's furniture shop on 17.02.2026 at about 03:00 p.m., abused the petitioner and his wife with filthy language, dragged them by their hair and hands, and assaulted them. The petitioner has already lodged a complaint with the second respondent police; however, the second respondent police have failed to register an FIR. The complaint was also sent by post, but no action has been taken. Owing to this inaction, this petition came to be filed seeking the aforesaid relief.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police submitted that the private respondents are, in fact, employees of the petitioner, who were seriously aggrieved by the petitioner's failure to pay their salaries for several months. The petitioner himself had voluntarily submitted a 2/4

written statement that he is not pressing for any further action against private respondents 3 to 7 and thereafter approached this Court.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials placed before this Court. Considering the nature of the order proposed to be passed in this petition, notice to the private respondents herein is dispensed with.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of this case, this Court hereby directs the petitioner to lodge a fresh complaint before the second respondent police, if he encounters with any new threat. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands disposed of. 24.02.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Sm TO:-
