Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to modify the time and police protection to conduct cultural events on 28.03.2021 10.00 PM to 29.03.2021, 5.00 AM instead of 28.03.2021 6 AM to 10 PM and adequate polie protection for conducting village Cultural Program at Sri Konnaiyur Muthu Mariyamman Temple, Konnapatti Village, Ponnamaravathi (Taluk), Pudukkottai District, based on the representation Dated 20.03.2021. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
2.Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) accepts notice for the respondents.
3.Mr.V.Selvakumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the President of the festival committee of Sri Konnaiyur Muthu Mariyamman Temple, 1/3
Konnapatti Village, Ponnamaravathi (Taluk), Pudukkottai District and that cultural event is scheduled to be held on 28.03.2021 and 29.03.2021. His further contention is that he submitted a representation dated 19.03.2021 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct the cultural events and the second respondent issued proceedings dated 19.03.2021, contending that the petitioner can conduct cultural events and conclude it before 10.00 p.m and that he has also submitted a representation dated 20.03.2021 to the second respondent seeking modification of time to conduct the cultural events, so far no action has been taken.
4. In the circumstances, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 20.03.2021 and pass appropriate orders based on finding and on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order / uploading of the order.
5. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
